I created this poster for a showing of D.A. Pennebaker's classic from 1968. This legendary California music festival (pre-Woodstock) launched the state-side careers of several performers, most notably Jimi Hendrix. This documentary of the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival, focusing on the audience as well as performances features: Janis Joplin, Scott McKenzie, The Mamas and the Papas, Canned Heat, Jefferson Airplane, Eric Burden and the Animals, The Who, Country Joe and the Fish, Otis Redding, Jimi Hendrix and Ravi Shankar
