Santa Fe, New Mexico. It's Y2k time and I'm out in Tesuque and La Tierra mostly, hand chiseling architectural and patio stone... Here is one of a series of works I did during these intensive "stonemason" years, many of which were, alas, unrecorded before finding their way home. The image is one I had in mind from a drawing I made as a young boy which I later penned in ink and finally developed into this painting... long days cutting stone, but I'm off to Baja again...
