The best way to walk in to Paleochora from Anidri is not the road but to meander down through the olive groves to the gorge which is dry after spring. It is a natural staircase of rock and dry wash with stunning views that ends at several lagoons, a sandy cove, aand two rocky beaches. The ancient footpath continues along the coast to the hellenic settlement of Lissos and beyond.
